Fire crews worked through the night after a derelict sandstone building in East Ayrshire went up in flames.
The blaze drama in New Cumnock saw four appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) race to the scene at Pathhead in New Cumnock.
Firefighters battled to control the flames, as smoke billowed into the sky, with the busy A76 closed in both directions for several hours while they carried out their emergency operation.
The location of the fire is a few minutes' walk from New Cumnock railway station and Loch Park, the home of West of Scotland League Premier Division side Glenafton Athletic.
The SFRS were still there this morning making sure the situation was under control with the main road reopened just after 8am.
Police today confirmed there were no injuries and that an investigation into what caused the blaze is now underway.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were made aware of a fire at a derelict building at Pathhead in New Cumnock shortly after 9.05pm on Thursday, March 23.
“No one has been injured and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson added earlier today: "We were called at around 8.42pm on Thursday to the report of a fire at the back of a derelict sandstone building.
"We sent four appliances to the scene. One appliance currently remains in attendance."
