The Viking Venus cruise ship is visiting Liverpool's cruise terminal this weekend, as part of a 15-day British Isles Explorer tour.
Since departing from Bergen, Norway, on June 3, the liner has visited places including the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland, and Belfast, before arriving in Liverpool today (Saturday). The ship is scheduled to dock between approximately 8am and 11pm to allow passengers to go on a choice of excursions around the city and wider region.
After the stopover in Liverpool today, the one-way voyage will continue to Holyhead, Dublin, and Dover, before terminating at London-Tilbury.

The Viking Venus is one of the newer ocean ships in cruise operator Viking's ocean fleet of identical sister ships. The naming ceremony took place in May 2021 and the liner made the maiden voyage to Liverpool a few days later, just as the cruise industry was starting to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.
Classified by Cruise Critic as "small ships," Viking's ocean vessels have a gross tonnage of 47,800 tons, with 465 staterooms that can host 930 guests. The ships feature all veranda staterooms, Scandinavian design, light-filled public spaces and abundant al fresco dining options. Because of their more compact size, the ships can dock where larger vessels cannot.
