A community art space with a café, plant and record shop has opened in Leeds city centre.
The Imaginarium is a community and arts space that started in Kirkstall, and has since announced its move to Leeds city centre and has everything from a multi-use event space to a café and plant and record shop.
A soft launch, which took place in early October, will be followed by the grand opening party that will welcome all to what is sure to become a vital and intimate new addition to the city’s landscape.

The Imaginarium started in Kirkstall and soon became a valuable resource for locals with a large program of events.
A multi-purpose space, with the capacity to hold 120 people, will be a place to enjoy curated events from the worlds of house and techno with parties like Subterranea and The Off Licence hosting, but also lots of tasteful acoustic nights will be held.
During the week, the Imaginarium will be the perfect place to pop in and share ideas with fellow creatives or soak up some ambience in the café, while also shopping for top records and plants, thanks to the Plant and Deck shop.
The Imaginarium has been founded as a Community Interest Company (CIC), this means the space will become a vital city resource that offers a wide range of creative courses, classes and performances across the arts that bring a wealth of benefits to the local community.
Profits from the space will all be invested back into the business to enable organic growth and essential activities.
It will also be available for private hire, and comes from an experienced team of local DJs, producers, visual artists and promoters who have contributed greatly to Leeds in a number of different ways.
Roya Brehl has been part of The Imaginarium since its inception, Subterranea promoter Rory Flynn has been involved for 18 months while Alex Kelsall is a new member of the team. Phil Warner is owner of Plant & Deck with a vast musical knowledge and Rob Chadwick is a PR specialist, Catch Recordings label head and original member of The Imaginarium since its inception in 2018.
Lastly, Matt Long is a more recent addition to the team with a rich musical background in the city and will be hosting the Audial events in the venue.
The Imaginarium is set to be exactly the sort of boutique and independent space Leeds requires to feed the creative of the city.
