New Covid variant hits north west - find the number of cases in your region

The new Omicron sub-variant has begun to spread across the world.

As of April 17, there have been 120 cases of the Arcturus virus reported in the UK, five of which proved fatal. That’s according to figures from the UK Health Security Agency.

The virus has spread across the country, and is present in all but one region - the north east.
