Positive Covid tests in the Liverpool City Region have dropped by more than 50% in seven days.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, Liverpool City Region had 19,586 positive covid tests in the seven days ending January 12 - that's 21,448 fewer positive tests than the seven days before.
This means Liverpool City Region's week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 52%.

Drops in new positive tests were recorded in every area of the city region for the seventh day running.
The week-on-week percentage change figure decreases in each local government area of the LCR were: 56% in Knowsley; 50% in Liverpool; 50% in Halton; 53% in St Helens; 53% in Sefton; and 53% in Wirral.
In England, in the week ending January 12, positive tests dropped. England had 638,092 coronavirus infections, which is 423,762 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 6,000 cases in the week ending January 12, which is 6,042 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 50%.
The latest infection rate was 1,198.9 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 1,787 positive tests over the last week - that's 1,784 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 50% in Halton in the week ending January 12.
The latest infection rate is 1,377.2 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 2,349 cases in the week ending January 12, which is 2,697 fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate in St Helens is 1,297.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 53%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 1,961 cases in the week ending January 12, which is 2,471 fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 1,286.3 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 56%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 3,303 cases in the week ending January 12, which is a 3,711 fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 1,197.2 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases dropped by 53% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 19,586.0 positive tests over in the week ending January 12, which is 21,448 fewer cases than in the previous week.
This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 52%. The latest infection rate is 1,150.26 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 2,610 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending January 12, which is 2,397 fewer cases than the previous week.
The week-on-week percentage figure fell by 48%. There was an infection rate of 1,246.44 per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
West Lancashire recorded 1,382 coronavirus cases in the week ending January 12, which is 1,512 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
This meant there was a week-on-week percentage figure fell by 52%. The infection rate was 1,207.03 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 3,898 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending January 12, which is 4,015 fewer cases than the previous seven days.
The latest infection rate is 1,133.72 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week-on-week percentage decrease of 51% in cases.
England
In the week ending January 12, England recorded 638,092 coronavirus cases, which is 423,762 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
There was a week-on-week percentage fall of 40% in cases nationally, and there was an infection rate of 1,128.36 per 100,000 people.
