New council homes are set to be built in a Nottinghamshire town. More than 30 council houses could be built on land off Warwick Close, Kirby-in-Ashfield, if plans are approved at Ashfield District Council's planning committee on August 25.
The council plan would create 34 new properties on brownfield land that has been vacant for 12 years. The houses would be semi-detached and have two or three bedrooms, aiming to deliver 100 per cent affordable housing on site.
The proposal also includes areas for car parking, the provision of turfed private outdoor space, and new tree and shrub planting. Nottinghamshire Health Authority have asked for a contribution of £18,423.75 to go towards the healthcare of new residents, as part of any Section 106 Agreement.
