Port Charles is set to welcome a new face that could potentially stir things up for Jonathan Jackson's character, Lucky, as he makes his return to General Hospital. Sawandi Wilson is joining the cast of the long-running soap opera as a character named Isaiah, as reported by Deadline. While details about Isaiah's character are still under wraps, it has been revealed that he will have a significant connection to Lucky, a role Jackson has portrayed since 1993.
Wilson confirmed his casting through an Instagram post, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. The actor's first appearance as Isaiah is scheduled for Monday, August 26. Wilson, who initially started his career as a breakdancer before transitioning to acting, is known for his role as Captain Leto in the final season of Star Trek: Discovery, as well as appearances in The House of Flowers on Netflix and Harlem on Prime Video.
In addition to his acting credits, Wilson is also a producer and director, having worked on projects like the comedy series Date.Love.Repeat. Lucky's character last graced the screens of General Hospital in 2015, but Jackson's return on August 23 marked his 386th episode with the show.
In an interview with TV Insider, Jackson hinted at what fans can expect from Lucky's return, describing it as 'substantial' and 'real.' He mentioned that the reasons for Lucky's prolonged absence will be revealed, emphasizing that Lucky has been actively involved in various endeavors during his time away.
Jackson also teased that Lucky's character has evolved during his absence, drawing parallels to his iconic father, Luke Spencer. He suggested that Lucky has embraced certain traits reminiscent of his father, indicating a potential shift in his character dynamics.
