Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis shared a positive update on his injured right foot during the team’s media day this Monday. The 28-year-old was a late scratch for his native Latvia at this summer’s FIBA World Cup because of complications stemming from a bout of plantar fasciitis.
Thankfully for the Celtics, however, Porzingis told reporters he is fully healthy and ready to rock with the season set to open just a few weeks from now. Boston will play its first game on the road against the New York Knicks on Oct. 24, where Porzingis will make his regular season debut with his new team.

Porzingis is now healthy and ready to rock for the Celtics. In fact, his enthusiasm for the coming NBA season informed his decision to forgo playing in the World Cup.
“Training camp was about to start for a national team,” Porzingis explained Monday. “And I was actually in great shape and feeling good. Just the foot was a little bit bothering me.”
“They all add up, and all the stories … team meeting and things they did off the court as a group,” said Tatum. https://t.co/QxWHKTDIHb

The Celtics are expected to be one of the most formidable squads in the NBA this season, and barring health, Porzingis will be a key contributor on both sides of the ball. A clean slate of health is an excellent way to begin the year.
The trade is the second seismic move made by the storied franchise this offseason. https://t.co/ZsqGMdc2ao
