New Celtic away kit 'leaked' as fans get first look at adidas 1992 throwback

Images have been leaked on social media appearing to show Celtic 's new away kit.

And it looks like a throwback to the 1992-93 season as adidas go green and black for 2022-23.

It's set to be a big season for Ange Postecoglou and his team as they prepare for a return to the Champions League group stage.

They will almost certainly have a Premiership title to defend too with their gap over Rangers now unassailable - save for an unthinkable goal-difference swing.

They will be hoping to have a better season than they did 30 years ago in 1993, when they finished third under Liam Brady.

It was a poor season on the pitch but one thing the Hoops had going for them back then was a lovely away kit.

And to mark the 30th anniversary of that black and green striped number, it appears adidas are turning the clock back.

An image from Twitter user @LilZe_7, then shared by popular kit leaker Footy Headlines, appears to show the new away kit getting ready to hit the shelves.

This is said to be the new away kit (@LilZe_7)

And it's near enough a carbon copy of the kit from 30 years ago, with the sponsor and kit manufacturer's logo the main noticeable differences.

The collar has been ditched too for a cleaner U-neck effort more in line with the club's current away kit.

The iconic adidas stripes are also visible on the sleeves, but other than that it looks to have been kept simple.

The kit hasn't been officially announced by the club yet and it doesn't seem likely that will come before their final game of the season this weekend.
