New cafe and garden centre to be built at former Sunderland golf course

Sunderland

Plans for a garden centre and café at a former Sunderland golf course site have been given the stamp of approval by councillors.

Back in 2021, Sunderland City Council lodged an application with its own planning department for the former Elemore Golf Course in the Hetton ward.

The site is earmarked for a major revamp as part of a wider vision to create a “Heritage and Eco Country Park.”
