A new business is set to take over a popular bakery in two Merseyside areas in what will be an "exciting new opportunity".
The ECHO previously reported how a Merseyside town "won't be the same" as a popular bakers closes its doors. Specialist craft bakers Ray’s is located on High Street and has been a much-loved business in Prescot since 1924.
From hot savouries to beautifully decorated sweet treats, the business incorporates a delicatessen with a coffee shop next door and also has a successful shop on Allerton Road. However, earlier this month the business announced it would be closing.

Chatwins is set to take over both premises and will re-open later this year. A spokesperson from Chatwins said there would "inevitably be change", but there will be the "same warm welcome".
They added that remaining staff will be retained as they told the ECHO : "Chatwins are incredibly excited to have taken on board the mantle established by Ray's Bakery over many successful decades of trade.
"As a fourth-generation family baker with an equally distinguished heritage we understand the importance of the relationship Ray's have built with their customers, and we look forward to continuing that partnership between ourselves and the community with enthusiasm and a fresh, exciting outlook.
"Inevitably there will be change, not least of all a new look and new product, but customers will be delighted to know that in retaining Ray's exceptional front of house staff we can assure them the same warm welcome and friendly service from the same familiar faces they have come to know and love.
"Regular customers will be reassured that a great many Chatwins products will be instantly familiar to them in name and quality, while we expect they may also find one or two new favourites as well. Everyone at Chatwins looks forward to an exciting new opportunity, and we cannot wait to welcome these two legendary shops and their customers into our family."
Many people have continued to share their fond memories and love of the bakery that has captured the heart of the community. One ECHO reader said: "How sad, glad to hear the lovely staff have jobs. Well done and enjoy your well earned retirement. Know doubt who ever takes over it, it will still remain as 'Rays'."
Another added: "Oh no I have a friend that travels all the way from Ireland for Mr rays Sausage rolls I'm one million percent devastated about this news." A third wrote: "How sad."
Previously taking to social media to announce the closure, hundreds of comments came pouring in about the bakery that has been at the "heart of the town".
One person wrote: "Totally gutted. There is nothing like a Rays sausage roll and their meringues, Japs, lovely bread etc, used to love Sherry Delights and the Walnut cake at Christmas. Very sad it’s closing its doors. Chatwins has a lot to live up too. Wising Michelle well for her retirement."
Another added: "Prescot will never be the same without our beloved Rays. End of an era."
