Plans for a new business to open at a Nottingham retail park have been given the go-ahead. It is set to open alongside B&M, Lidl and The Butchers Shop at the Clifton Triangle Retail Park, in Green Lane.
Nottingham City Council gave permission for a change of use of a unit to a veterinary practice on August 15. The application was put forward by CVS Group plc which provides veterinary services in the UK, Netherlands and Republic of Ireland.
Previously people were calling for a soft play area in one of the empty units on the retail park. The veterinary practice would operate Monday to Sunday between 8.30am and 7pm

The practice would also provide 24hour emergency only access. No specific allocated parking is provided as part of the application proposals, but customers and other visitors would have access to the existing car parking at the wider retail park.
The city council said the vets would provide job opportunities that would "strengthen and diversify" the local economy. They added the retail park location would mean the new business would not negatively impact nearby properties or worsen traffic conditions.
In a report on the decision, a Nottingham City Council planning officer said: "The application site is located within a local shopping centre as defined by the Local Plan. It is sequentially preferable that the proposed use should be located within such centres... The job opportunities provided by the proposed use would also help strengthen and diversify the local economy."
Work on the Clifton Triangle project started in July 2017 with the demolition of Fairham House site, which was previously owned by Nottingham City Council.
