New bus service from Enniskillen to local tourist attractions announced

A new bus service from Enniskillen to two popular local tourist attractions has been announced by Translink.

The bus will run from the Co Fermanagh town to the Marble Arch Caves and Cuilcagh boardwalk once a day from Monday to Friday. The service will not run on weekends.

The new pilot service came into place on 1 July and comes as part of the transport authority’s summer schedule to different tourist destinations throughout Northern Ireland.

A Translink spokesperson said the new service offers a cost-effective transport option to the attractions.

“As part of our summer timetable, we have added a new pilot bus service from Enniskillen to Marble Arch Geopark, offering a cost-effective public transport option for visitors to the attraction,” the spokesperson said.

“There is one return journey Monday to Friday, leaving Enniskillen Bus Centre at 11.45am and returning from Marble Arch at 4.30pm.

“A return ticket is good value, costing £4.80 for an adult or £2.40 for a child and can be purchased at the bus station or on board from the driver”.

Translink’s Director of Commercial Operations, David Cowan said: “As we move into the busy summer period, we are enhancing many of our services, offering people a comfortable, hassle-free and cost-effective travel option.

“We have added a number of special services to our summer timetables, including the Antrim Coaster, Bangor to Newcastle, the Mournes Rambler, Causeway Coast, Marble Arch and Omagh to Portrush.”
