SWAT standoff ends after over 17 hours in South Shore

A SWAT incident ended after over 17 hours in the South Shore neighborhood late Sunday.

The incident started around 5 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of East 76th Street, police said.

Around 10:25 p.m., a 45-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for observation, police said.

No charges have been announced by police.

Area 2 detectives were investigating.
