New allegation laid against double murder-accused Nick Reiner

Nick Reiner, 32, has been indicted by a grand jury on murder charges over the deaths of his parents, actor-director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, with a new special circumstance allegation of lying in wait.
Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, were found dead from multiple sharp force injuries at their Los Angeles home on 14 December.
Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty on Wednesday and remains held without bail ahead of a pretrial hearing scheduled for 15 September.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney is evaluating whether to seek the death penalty, taking into account all aggravating and mitigating circumstances.
The grand jury indictment replaces initial charges filed on 16 December, allowing prosecutors to bypass California’s preliminary hearing process to expedite a trial.
