Seniors and caregivers can now see how Medicare Advantage and Part D drug plans scored for 2027 before choosing coverage. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the new star ratings on Thursday and posted them on Medicare Plan Finder ahead of open enrollment, which begins October 15.
The headline number looks steady. About 71% of people in Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage are enrolled in contracts rated four stars or higher. But the number of top-rated contracts fell from 22 last year to 15 this year, and no standalone drug plan earned five stars.
