Outgoing Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is set to link up with former manager Jose Mourinho for a third time by joining Italian outfit Roma.
According to reports, the Serbian is poised to join the Serie A giants on a free transfer ahead of leaving Old Trafford on June 30 upon the expiration of his contract. Matic announced back in April that he would leave the club when his current deal reaches its conclusion.
He will join fellow midfielders Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata in leaving Old Trafford later this month. He joined United from Chelsea in July 2017, being snapped up by Mourinho for a second time, after the Portuguese chief was responsible for making him rejoin Chelsea in 2014.

Matic, who will turn 34 in August, is now set to be signed by Mourinho for a third time, perhaps signalling the former United boss' desire to stay in Rome. He has been linked with leaving the club and taking over at French giants Paris Saint-Germain over the last few days.
However, Mourinho's fondness for Matic suggests that he could be set to stay at the recently crowned UEFA Europa Conference League champions. But although speculation concerning Matic's future has been rife in recent weeks following confirmation that he will leave the club this summer, it has come as little surprise to most United fans that Mourinho wants to be reacquainted with him.
Below, MEN Sport has taken a closer look at what some United supporters have had to say in response to Matic reportedly being set to join Roma on a free transfer this summer.
As you can see by the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's supporters are not remotely surprised that Mourinho is set to provide Matic with his next venture. He is a firm favourite of the defensive midfielder and his success in his maiden season in charge of Roma this term should stand them in good stead for next season, meaning Matic could have a chance to earn some silverware.
