Nets Trade Rumors: Cam Thomas, Bojan Bogdanovic Available

According to the latest Brooklyn Nets trade rumors, the organization is reportedly open to dealing Cam Thomas, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Dennis Schroder.

Thomas, who is Brooklyn’s leading scorer this season with a career-high 24.6 points per game, was named the most sought-after candidate.

Brooklyn Nets are open to trading Cam Thomas, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Dennis Schroder

During the offseason, the Nets traded Bridges to the New York Knicks, and Thomas has since stepped up as Brooklyn’s No. 1 option.

The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported on Tuesday that Brooklyn is “expected to be open for business,” and Thomas “is widely considered to be available.”

In addition to Thomas, Amick named veterans Bogdanovic and Schroder as potential candidates to be traded from Brooklyn this season.

Although center Nic Claxton signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension last summer, Amick clarified that “the reality of the Nets’ long-term plans means no one is likely off the table.”

Bogdanovic, the 6-foot-7 combo forward, has yet to play this season because of left foot surgery. However, Bogey is progressing toward a return.

Last season, he averaged 15.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 25.9 minutes split between the Detroit Pistons and Knicks.

Nets trade would be ideal during a rebuild year

Meanwhile, through 14 games (all starts), Schroder is averaging 18.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and career highs of 1.3 steals and 34.2 minutes per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and career bests of 42.6% from 3-point range and 86.7% at the foul line.

Amid a rebuilding year, the Nets are off to a 5-9 start under first-year head coach Jordi Fernandez, and the team ranks 20th in net rating.

According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index (BPI), Brooklyn is projected to finish 33-49 as the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Nets currently hold a 13.7% chance to make the playoffs, a 4% probability to end the regular season as a top 6 seed, and a 27.7% possibility to qualify for the play-in tournament.

While Fernandez is doing everything he can to help Brooklyn win games, the team is in desperate need of superstars and veteran leadership.

The Nets emphasized those points in the offseason and confirmed that 2024-25 would be a rebuild.
