The City Edition jerseys across the NBA have been generally met with positive reaction as the league has looked for creative ways to generate revenue for teams across the league.
Fans have been seen at games over the last couple seasons donning the same City Edition jerseys as the players, a testament to the successful idea by the league to create new alternate jerseys for each team.
With all that said, the Nets unveiled their City Edition jerseys for next season and they received quite the mixed reaction from fans across the sport.
First, here’s a look at Brooklyn’s jerseys.

The uniforms are definitely…different.
Starting with the offset video game-like font. This is the first uniform of its type across the NBA featuring text as distinct as this one.
Second, the color scheme. It’s not the first time that an NBA team has shied away from its primary colors with its City Edition jerseys, but these seem off the wall in comparison to the plain black and white uniforms that the Nets usually wear.
Enough with my uniform breakdown, though. Let’s go straight to the fan reaction on social media, which was mixed, to put it nicely.

Re: new Nets jerseys: art is the shock of the new. They won’t matter one iota if Nets don’t win.
