Rotterdam hosts the UEFA Nations League semi-final between Netherlands and Croatia which could well see Ronald Koeman secure some silverware at the second time of asking as head coach. The former Southampton and Everton head coach has had a bumpy start in his second stint after succeeding Louis van Gaal in January but could lay down his mark with a win at De Kuip.
Oranje go into this match as the clear favourites to secure a place in the final with the hosts at 11/10 with Betfred while Croatia are 11/4 and a draw is 11/5. The winner will secure a place in the final at De Kuip which will be decided on Friday between Spain and Italy
In his first stint, Koeman led Oranje to the inaugural Nations League finals in Portugal back in 2019 where they saw off England in the semi-finals before losing to the hosts that summer - something that still bugs Virgil van Dijk after his pre-match press conference earlier this week. Both will be hoping for a better international break after they were humbled by France 4-0 and then only managed to beat 10-man Gibraltar by three goals, leaving them still in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign on negative goal difference.
Fellow semi-finalists Croatia will be tough opponents to deal with however having picked up just one defeat in their last 15 outings which was against Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - the same team which knocked out the Netherlands too.
