Netflix viewers have been too scared to sleep after watching a 'terrifying' Dakota Johnson -fronted movie called Wounds.
The 2019 movie stars Armie Hammer and Dakota, 33, and is written and directed by Babak Anvari, who mainly writes psychological horror films.
Wounds, which also stars Zazie Beetz, is based on the novella The Visible Filth by Nathan Ballingrud.
It follows Will (played by Armie), a New Orleans-based bartender working at a dilapidated cockroach-infested bar.
One day, his ex-girlfriend Alicia (played by Zazie) along with her current boyfriend Jeffrey, a drunk man called Eric and a couple of university students enter the bar.
A drunk Eric gets into a fistfight with another patron, resulting in him getting stabbed in the cheek with a broken bottle.
The university students rush out of the bar in a panic and Will notices one of them left their phone behind.
When he returns home to his girlfriend Carrie (played by Dakota), he begins receiving messages on the stranger's phone from a person who claims something from the "tunnel" is following him.
Strange occurrences begin happening to Will after taking the phone and things quickly go south.
The movie clearly had an impact on horror fans, who rushed to social media to freak out over the storyline.
One viewer: "Jesus christ, I just watched "#Wounds" on # Netflix and I guess I won't sleep tonight. This is the most terrifying movie I have watched in a very long time."
"So I watched #wounds, it’s kind of gross," another user posted.
A fan added: "Just finished watching #wounds on Netflix. Not as scary as I thought it would be but the ending creepy af! #dakotajohnson delivers her scenes well in my opinion."
In the last few months, Netflix viewers have been left terrified over the selection of horror movies uploaded to the streaming platform.
Fans recently rushed to social media to discuss the scenes from the 2009 movie Splice.
Splice follows a young scientific couple who try to introduce human DNA into their work of splicing animal genes.
Viewers were equally disturbed by the movie, His House, which focuses on a young couple from war-torn South Sudan who are seeking asylum in England.
Their worst fears are realised when a sinister force starts tormenting them while living in their new home.
