A glamourous new reality series is sparking a surge in bookings to luxury holiday destination Dubai. Latest Netflix series Dubai Bling has triggered a rapid rise in demand for winter sunshine breaks to the coastal city favoured by the rich and famous.
Since first airing on October 27, holiday specialists On the Beach has seen a 61 per cent increase in sun seekers fancying a glitzy getaway to the United Arab Emirates hotspot.
Filmed around the exotic surroundings of the Persian Gulf Coast, Dubai Bling follows the elegant lives of a group of millionaires set against a dazzling backdrop of slick cars, high-end fashion and stunning beaches.
After streaming of the eight-part series started last month, On the Beach’s data analysts have witnessed travel trade to the popular resort skyrocket.
Zoe Harris, Chief Customer Officer at On the Beach said: “We compared 12 day holiday bookings made before Dubai Bling started airing and after it hit our screens and we saw a 61 per cent increase in bookings during that period.
“Overall, there has been a 53% increase in Google searches for ‘Dubai Holidays’ since the launch of Dubai Bling.
“It demonstrates how programmes like these can inspire Brits holiday plans and enjoy a slice of extravagance themselves.”
Brits are also spending more than previous years to get the full Dubai Bling experience with the average spend at £910 in 2022, up from £540 in 2019.
With all-year sunshine and sizzling temperatures even in winter months, Dubai has become a major tourist attraction – boasting a jaw-dropping skyline and the world’s tallest structure; the 828-metre Burj Khalifa.

A ‘Bling Special’ currently on offer from On the Beach includes an eight night bed and breakfast stay at the 5* Dukes The Palm in Jumeirah Beach, with prices starting from just £1,381 per person. Includes return flights from Manchester Airport on 11 December, with the hotel boasting a private beach and breath-taking views of the Arabian Gulf.
For those looking for something even more extravagant, a week-long half-board stay at the 5* W Dubai - The Palm in Jumeirah Palm is also available. Prices start from £2336.76 per person travelling on 11 December, including economy return flights from Newcastle Airport. The impressive hotel boasts a private beachfront location and an on-site spa.
The holiday experts have also announced that free fast track airport security on summer 2023 package holidays is back. To qualify for free fast track security booking, package holidays must include flights and accommodation to be placed on or after 26 September ’22 and departure must be between 1 May ’23 and 31 October ’23.
