Cheers, queers!
Netflix’s new reality dating show “The Ultimatum” has been renewed for a second season, nearly two weeks before its premiere. And this time, it will feature an all-queer cast, the streaming service confirmed Thursday.
The show, produced by the same people behind the massively popular “Love is Blind,” Kinetic Content and creator Chris Coelen, is taking true love to the test — in a twisted, risky, “Temptation Island” kind of way.
“The Ultimatum” will follow six couples who are on the verge of marriage.
However, while one partner is ready to commit, the other is not so sure. That’s when an ultimatum is issued, giving each partner eight weeks to either say “yes, I do,” or bid adieu.
Throughout the process, contestants will choose a new potential partner from one of the other couples and then move in with that person for three weeks.
Hosted by real-life couple and “Love is Blind” hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Netflix’s newest “social experiment” will offer contestants a “life-changing opportunity to get a glimpse of two different possible futures,” according to the streamer.
The show’s first season is set to premiere April 6, with final episodes streaming on April 13.
The second, LGBTQ season is “coming soon,” Netflix said. According to Variety, the season will feature an “all-queer, mostly female cast.”
