The final season of The Crown is set to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II by welcoming back all three actresses who have played her in the smash hit Netflix show. Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton will also be joined by newcomer Viola Prettejohn, who will reportedly play an even younger Elizabeth.
New scenes have been shot by all of the show’s former actresses, The Sun reports. Each actress has played the late monarch at different stage of her reign.
A TV insider told the publication that the idea was likely to have been hatched around the time of Queen Elizabeth II’s death last September. They said: “Netflix are playing a clever hand with these four queens, bringing the story of Her Majesty to a sensational end after telling virtually all of her life story over 60 episodes.” What are your thoughts on the show?
