Sex Education was first released in January 2019 with more than 40 million viewers on Netflix streaming the first season. It primarily follows Otis Milburn, a student at Moordale Secondary School. Otis begins the series ambivalent about sex, in part because his single mother Jean is a sex therapist who frequently has affairs but is unable to maintain romantic relationships.
The most recent and third season was released last year in September with series four announced just eight days later. Filming for previous seasons has mostly taken place in parts of South Wales and Gloucestershire over the years.
