Aspire to become a filmmaker? Now's your chance. From today until the end of the month, sign up to the REEL LIFE project, an intensive workshop from Netflix recruiting a new generation of filmmakers from all over Thailand to experience work behind the lens. Those selected will meet people on set for two days and one night while experiencing the real working world of the global entertainment industry.
The REEL LIFE project is part of the Netflix Fund For Creative Equity (also known as the Netflix Fund For Creative Opportunities) founded in 2021 to invest more than US$100 million over five years developing creative talent around the world. Now the programme has expanded to provide opportunities for young people in Thailand who are interested in behind-the-scenes work.
Spread over two days, the camp aims to inspire, train and empower young and under-represented Thai creatives by enabling them to access the experience and knowledge of industry veterans. Working with Netflix, young people will have the opportunity to step into the movie and series production industry in the fields of Set Production, Post Production, Script Supervisor, Office Production and Production Accountant.
The programme is currently accepting applications from students and the general public aged 20-26 of Thai nationality. Those selected will participate in workshops taking place in Bangkok from Aug 5-6. The project will select 50 participants. In addition, those who have completed the workshop, and are qualified for the job position Netflix is looking for, will be selected for internship with a Netflix production partner.
Application is free and can be submitted from now until June 30.
1. Fill out an application to participate in the project at reellife.camp/register.
2. Introduce yourself in video form or an article of no more than 800 words.
3. The project will notify the selected candidates via email on July 17, 2023.
