Netflix's Bridgerton style Grade II listed villa that you can buy

A new property has come on the market in Merseyside, that wouldn’t look out of place on the set of Bridgerton.

The grand Grade II listed villa, on Allport Road, Bromborough, is up for sale with a mystery price tag. The sale includes the main residence but also a whopping 2.1 acres of ground, a former stable block and paddock.

Built around the 1850s, around the same time when the hit Netflix series is set, the property is filled with plenty of original Victorian features throughout. It was originally built as a house but has since been used as offices and flat accommodation.

With the price on asking, it’s unclear how much the buyer wants the listing to sell for, but negotiators could bag themselves a bargain. Similar detached properties in the area have been known to sell for more than £500,000 recently, according to Rightmove.

Overall, properties in Bromborough had an average price of £220,593 over the last year. Most sales in the last 12 months were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £191,562.

Detached properties sold for an average of £348,399, with terraced properties fetching £162,883. Overall, sold prices in Bromborough over the last year were 8% up on the previous year and 16% up on the 2018 peak of £189,800.

Split across two storeys, with attic rooms also available, the property benefits from many large rooms, boasting high ceilings and wall panelling. Throughout they include characteristics of period homes, including stained glass windows, original fireplaces and ornate coving detailing.

It is described by the estate agents as having the potential to become a redevelopment investment. There are limited images available online of the inside of the property but detailed illustrative floor plans of the accommodation are available from the Agents on request.

Images of the grounds are available on Rightmove and show outhouses including a former stable block to the North East of the site and a paddock to the West. There is also large area of lawn and a section of garden being used for a green house.

The Brennan Ayre O'neill listing reads: "This is a unique opportunity to acquire a two storey detached villa with attic rooms on a large site. Kinders comprises an attractive Grade II Listed villa. Believed to have been built around 1850, the property retains some of its original features.

“Originally constructed as a residence, Kinders is now used principally as offices and provides around 550 sqm of accommodation. In addition the main buildings include the usual ancillary facilities and a two bedroom ground floor flat (approximately 67 sqm).

“Kinders is situated in extensive grounds which extend to around 2.1 acres (8,850 sqm) or thereabouts and include a former stable block to the North East of the site and a paddock to the West. In addition to its existing use, the property is considered to have considerable redevelopment potential (subject to the appropriate statutory consents being obtained).”
