Netflix has revealed some new details for season four of their hit psychological thriller You, with Penn Badgley at the helm.
Each season has seen book manager and murderous stalker Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) reinvent himself in a new city to escape his fiercely disturbed past.
With an ever-expanding list of victims - or, in his mind, fallen lovers - Goldberg will continue his search for “the one”.
Excitingly, Goldberg has crossed the pond in this new season, to escape the brutal consequences of season three’s finale, which included (spoiler alert) dismembering his own toes and leaving them in a quiche.
Earlier this year, Badgley was spotted filming in London at Royal Holloway University, in Surrey, using the Grade I listed Founder’s Building as a backdrop.
So what do we know about Goldberg’s next steps and his next victims?
When is You season 4 out on Netflix?
The unhinged protagonist, whose sardonic inner monologue is at times frighteningly relatable, is returning to our screens in February.
And the great news for You (and me) is that part one of the twisted series will be released a day earlier than previously announced (February 9).
Part two will air a month later, on Thursday, March 9.
What is the plot of You season 4?
As posters for the new season have revealed, Goldberg has taken on a new image in our very own capital – if the red buses are anything to go by.
He has also taken on the new moniker Professor Jonathan Moore, a position of authority which he will likely abuse.
Although a trailer has debuted the new faces in season four, including gallery director Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), Nadia (Amy Leigh Hickman), Rhys (Ed Speleers), Phoebe (Tilly Keeper), and Adam (Lukas Gage), we will also see his librarian mistress Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) return to complicate things further.
But not all things will change as Joe said himself: “I’m not the loveable bookstore manager in New York, or the shop clerk in LA, or the doting husband in the suburbs. No, not any more.
“Allow me to introduce myself: I’ve gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond and living in London has allowed me to bury the past.”
So expect to say goodbye to the old Joe Goldberg – and “hello, You”.
