Netflix's One Piece stars hear your concerns about bringing new seasons to the streamer – and they're in the same boat when it comes to wanting a quick turnaround.
Speaking to Collider on the pressure of attempting to catch up to the source material (at this rate, the live-action adaptation might catch up to the anime and manga in a decade or more), Nami actor Emily Rudd gave a level-headed response: "There's a certain amount of time that we have to put into post-production. We have so much that we have to add to the show, even though a lot of what we do is practical. But I think we're all keen to move at a pace that is as quick as humanly possible, so that's what we're doing."
Sanji actor Taz Skylar added that there is an "incredible pressure to put them out as quickly as humanely possible," with Usopp actor Jacob Romero noting, "The mix of CGI and practicality is definitely a formula that, I think, as a production, we're honing in on and getting more efficient and fantastic."
Right now, there's no official word on the release window for One Piece season 3, save for production having begun in South Africa in November 2025. Chopper actor Mikaela Hoover, Miss All Sunday actor Lera Abova, Cobra actor Sendhil Ramamurthy and Crocodile actor Joe Manganiello have all been upgraded to series regulars for the next season.
One Piece season 2 has only just sailed into sight on Netflix, but is currently sitting pretty as the streamer's #1 show this week. The critical response is mirroring viewer energy, too, as the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga is currently on a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Away from the live-action series, Oda has finally written down the meaning of the One Piece as the manga creeps towards its conclusion. Remarkably, dedicated fans think they've already found the spot where it was buried at sea, and plans are underway to recover the container.
