Subscription streaming service Netflix has joined the Russia boycott.
The world-wide site confirmed the news yesterday, joining a number of firms cutting ties in a bid to protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Netflix issued a statement citing the "circumstances on the ground" for its decision to suspend services throughout Russia.
However, the company did no offer any additional details, reports Wales Online.
It comes as social media giant TikTok blocked users in Russia from both posting content and viewing videos shared from elsewhere in the world.
Credit card company American Express also announced earlier in the day it would suspend operations in Russia, as well as in Russian-allied Belarus.
The actions are likely to further isolate the country and its people after a growing number of multinational businesses have cut off Russia from vital financial services, technology and a variety of consumer products in response to Western economic sanctions and global outrage over the invasion of Ukraine.
US credit card companies Visa, Mastercard and American Express all said over the weekend they would cut services in Russia.
South Korea’s Samsung Electronics, a major supplier of both smartphones and computer chips, said it would halt product shipments to the country, joining other big tech companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Intel and Dell.
