Netflix users have been raving about new thriller I Came By ever since it landed on the streaming platform on August 31.
The creepy movie, which stars Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville, has left viewers 'disturbed', 'stressed' and certainly impressed.
I Came By follows a rebellious young graffiti artist who targets the homes of the wealthy elite, but ends up discovering a shocking secret that leads him on a journey endangering himself and those closest to him.
Hugh takes on the role of former judge Sir Hector Blake, and his house is one of the properties broken into by Toby Nealey, who is played by George MacKay.
As the trailer for the movie hints, things soon turn sour when Toby sees something quite disturbing inside Hector's home.
"I really tried to be kind but I had this rage that was so liberating, so empowering, do you want to know what happened?"
After watching the flick, viewers immediately took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
"#ICameBy is a horror for our times. Loved the casting. Some scenes will haunt me. I have truly been disturbed," one person said.
Another tweeted: "oh I had no idea this movie would be like this….#ICameBy," while a third added: "I need everyone to watch #ICameBy that movie had me on edge the whole time."
A fourth viewer posted: "#ICameBy is essentially a brilliant tense weekend thriller. The dialogue is a bit weird at times as well as the time jumps, which could be executed btr. It tackles themes that aren’t new but it’s quite sad & I swear I got so stressed at this movie."
Others were quick to praise 58-year-old actor Hugh for turning his hand to a completely different genre.
One tweeted: "Just watched #ICameBy on Netflix. A Dahlesque modern day Tales of the Unexpected. For someone more used to playing nice guys, Hugh Boneville plays sinister really well."
Another said: "Wow Hugh you play a good baddie #icameby," and a third posted: "@hughbon Loved #ICameBy It is beautifully written and so skillfully and wonderfully acted, with such nuance! I shall never look at Paddington Bear the same way again. Your versatility is showing!"
And someone else added: "Watching #ICameBy and can I just say. I was not expecting the twists and turns. it was way better than I expected. @hughbon is brilliant in it as well."
