The second season of Bridgerton is set to grace our screens later this month. The first instalment, which debuted on Netflix on Christmas Day 2020, attracted viewers from 82 million households within 28 days of the season being released.
Following its release, Bridgerton has garnered something of a reputation for itself when it comes to lustful sex scenes. Although the next season will not be released until March 25, you can pretty much guarantee that, with the spotlight focusing on Jonathan Bailey's character Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, there will be some steamy scenes.
Bailey recently told RadioTimes that, although sexually charged scenes and dancing are 'the heart of the show', he found them both challenging. He also divulged how sex scenes are filmed, and it all sounds quite amusing.

When acting out sensual scenes with Simone Ashley's character Kate Sharma, Bailey was told to use a half-deflated netball. It sounds random, but the seemingly useless ball does an important job in the show, which has its own intimacy co-ordinator.
Bailey revealed: "If there are two people doing a sex scene, the rule is they must have three barriers separating them and there are certain acts where a half-inflated netball can allow for movement without having to connect physically. It’s pretty silly really and we have some hilarious moments, but it makes it less awkward.”
Meanwhile, Simone Ashley has explained to RadioTimes that she did not fret over filming sex scenes with Bailey due to her confidence and the environment on set. She said: "I wasn’t apprehensive.

"I’ve always been really confident in my sexuality and in my body. Like most teenage girls, there were years where I was insecure and in my head about myself, but I’ve learnt to really have fun with it, enjoy myself and love myself more.
"I am also confident that I can speak up if I’m not feeling comfortable with anything on set. We were in a very safe environment and we worked with an incredible intimacy coordinator who encouraged us to portray what it is for the female character to experience pleasure. That’s important for us to see, because it’s not like it doesn’t happen."
Earlier this month, the trailer for the upcoming season was released. From the snippet, viewers can see how Anthony becomes embroiled in a love triangle, as he grows closer to Kate whilst she attempts to stop him from courting her sister Edwina.
Season one of Bridgerton is currently available on Netflix, with the second season set to hit the streaming platform on March 25.
