The State Department described Netanyahu's meeting with Trump as a 'fairly routine event,' highlighting that such interactions between foreign leaders and political figures are common.
A State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, explained that it is standard practice for heads of state and government to meet with political parties and nominees for president while in the United States. He cited Secretary of State Antony Blinken's past meetings with opposition leaders during his international visits.
