
This day of reckoning was always coming at the United Nations General Assembly. PM Benjamin Netanyahu took the podium to deliver his speech and explain to the world why the war has dragged on for so long, causing so much loss of innocent life without any significant progress toward finally capturing all the terrorists responsible for the October 7th massacre. But before Netanyahu could say a word, delegates walked out as Donald Trump backed him from the White House.
As Netanyahu approached the podium, a number of delegates decided they could no longer stomach his rhetoric and staged a symbolic walkout. The situation in Gaza is horrific — reports of famine and violence emerge daily, prompting even unlikely parties to take a stand. The UK, France, Canada, Spain, and several other traditional allies of Israel have now declared that they will recognize a Palestinian state if that is what it takes to stop the catastrophic war in Gaza.
