A massive flash flood has struck Nepal’s Rasuwa district near the Tibet border, sweeping through villages and infrastructure project sites along the Bhote Koshi river. Videos of the massive flash flood show the sheer force of the water as tonnes of muddy water rush through the mountainous terrain, carrying away everything in their path. The sudden surge has raised fears of significant damage in the region.
Syapru Besi and Timure among worst-hit areas
Officials said the areas around Syapru Besi and Timure in Rasuwa have been severely affected by the flash flood. Narendra Pariyar, the district administrator, said authorities had received reports of villages and infrastructure project sites being washed away. At the time of the initial reports, officials did not have a confirmed estimate of casualties or the extent of property damage.
