Neo Art International, a new sales agency, has acquired worldwide sales rights outside Italy for Claudio Amendola's black comedy film trilogy, 'Cassamortari' ('Funeral Family'). The trilogy follows The Pasti Family, a Roman family in the funeral business. Produced by Paco Cinematografica in Rome and Neo Art Producciones in Barcelona, the first installment, 'I Cassamortari,' premiered on Amazon Prime Video in Italy in 2022. The second film, 'Ari-Cassamortari' ('Funeral Family 2'), is currently in post-production, focusing on the Pasti Brothers' rise as VIP gravediggers. The cast includes Massimo Ghini, Gian Marco Tognazzi, Lucia Ocone, and Alessandro Sperduti.
'Cassamortari 3' ('Funeral Family 3') is in development, with principal photography set to begin by the end of the year. The trilogy has the backing of Mediaset in Italy. Paco Cinematografica, known for producing international hits like 'The Best Offer,' is behind the saga.
Neo Art International, led by Antonia Nava and Liliana Bravo, is showcasing the 'Cassamortari' trilogy at the Málaga Film Festival. The company has expanded into production services, taking advantage of Spain's filming incentives. Natalia Villalón has joined Neo Art to oversee advertising and branding, as well as co-productions for Scandinavia.
Nava, with a background in international sales and production, aims to focus on territories like Italy, Latin America, Spain, and Scandinavia for co-productions. Neo Art is also presenting 'I'm the Boss,' a family comedy, and discussing 'The Wicked Game,' a Nordic noir thriller TV trilogy, with potential partners at Málaga.
