NEW YORK — Nelly is bringing his “country grammar” to the Empire State again.
Fresh off an accidental oral sex tape leak, the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop superstar has been announced as the headliner of the Great New York State Fair this year.
It’s the second time around for the St. Louis native behind the hits “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” “Hot In Herre” and “Dilemma.”
During last year’s event, Nelly drew more than 33,000 people to Chevy Park in Syracuse.
“Nelly’s show last year was one of the biggest in fair history, and we are fortunate to be able to bring him back so quickly,” fair director Troy Waffner said in a statement.
The “Ride wit Me” rapper is scheduled to perform Aug. 31 on the Chevy Park state in the New York Experience festival grounds.
Art of Rap featuring Ice-T – scheduled for Aug. 25 – was the first concert announced for the 2022 Great New York State Fair.
Rapper 24KGoldn, whose song with Iann Dior, “Mood,” became the first song ever to top four Billboard music charts simultaneously, is slated make his State Fair debut on Sept. 2.
All concerts in the Chevrolet Music Festival are free with daily Fair admission, which is $3 for adults (available online only at etix.com).
Children 12 and under are admitted free every day of the State Fair, while seniors 65 and over are admitted free every day.
The Great New York State Fair will run from Aug. 24 to Sept. 5 this year at the fairgrounds near Syracuse.
