An East Renfrewshire nursery has received a glowing report from inspectors after a recent visit.
Madras Family Centre in Neilston ticked all the boxes in a recent Education Scotland review.
The inspectors, who visited in October, said the nursery had a “warm, nurturing ethos” and children were benefiting from “strong relationships with practitioners who respect and care for them”.
Education Scotland officials branded the facility “good” and “very good” across all areas of learning following an unannounced visit to the High Street establishment.
A report issued by the watchdog said that “children have made close friendships, which are important to them,” and it praised the “stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments, which prompt curiosity and enquiry”.
The report also praised the “dedication of senior leaders and the commitment and resilience of the practitioner team through a period of change,” saying that “this has ensured children are included, safe and achieving, particularly for those children with additional support needs”.
The inspector talked up the nursery management and staff’s pride in their job, saying they were “making a difference to children’s wellbeing,” and that their attitude was “encouraging families and the community to become more involved with the setting again post pandemic”.
The inspection team suggested just two minor areas for improvement. They said: “Practitioners should continue to engage with national guidance to develop consistently high quality interactions across the team.”
And the report added they should “continue to develop approaches to planning for learning,” thus enabling “children to lead their own learning in greater depth”.
Explaining it is confident that the nursery has the capacity to continue to improve, Education Scotland said it has no plans to make any further visits in relation to their findings.
