Former manager Neil Warnock has responded to the row started by Tottenham’s Richarlison’s keepy-uppies against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
The Spurs man started a debate after juggling the ball in the middle of the match. Seconds after doing so, he was on the end of a robust tackle from Forest’s Brennan Johnson. The incident has led to Richarlison being slammed for showing "no class" and a debate among pundits over if the tricks showed disrespect. Warnock has however jumped to the defence of the former Everton man.
Writing on Twitter, the former Notts County and Queens Park Rangers manager sent a message to the player. “Keep on entertaining the fans @richarlison97 and taking the retribution #football,” he wrote on Twitter.

Alongside the message was a video showing the manager completing five keepy-uppies before losing control of the ball.
Following the game Forest head coach Steve Cooper said that the incident is not something that would be accepted from his own players. “I wouldn’t want my players to do that, what Richarlison did,” he said.
“But if that’s accepted at Spurs then that’s nothing to do with me. But it wouldn’t be accepted here, that’s for sure.”
Spurs boss Antonio Conte said that the player didn’t intend to cause any disrespect to Forest with his antics. "It is a game and you are under pressure,” he said.
“I repeat it is OK. I don’t think Richy wanted to show disrespect to Nottingham Forest.
"Nottingham Forest are a really good team with a great history in football and we have a great respect. Richy for sure thinks in the same way. Not disrespectful for anyone and I can tell you this."
