Neil Robertson almost used The Undertaker's walk-on music for Crucible entrance

Neil Robertson is one of the favourites to win the World Snooker Championship at The Crucible - but he won't get to face his dream opponent along the way.

The Australian came through his first-round match in Sheffield 10-5 against Ashley Hugill, to set up a match with England's Jack Lisowski. That match stood at 4-4 heading into Sunday's second session.

Robertson, whose only world title came back in 2010, has also seen his chances boosted by the exit of Mark Selby. The defending champion was beaten 13-10 in a controversial clash with Yan Bingtao.

But it seems that the 40-year-old isn't entirely happy with the current state of the tour. In fact, he's like to spice things up by awarding a card to a WWE legend.

The Undertaker is one of the most revered figures in wrestling, and was this year inducted into the organisation's Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania. A career spanning more than three decades culminated at that very PPV in 2020, when he beat AJ Styles in a 'Boneyard match'.

The star, real name Mark Calloway, altered his character numerous times in his career, but undoubtedly his most famous persona came as 'The Deadman', where he used funeral music for his walk-in. And his entrance was seemingly a source of inspiration for Robertson.

"If I could have anyone join the Tour it would love the Undertaker from WWE - I think his walk-on music would be amazing!" he said. "Someone would come out with the flowers and stuff, that would be a pretty cool walk-on."

And Robertson then claimed he's even considered mimicking the famous scenario himself: "I thought about doing it for my walk-on at The Crucible," he added.

The Undertaker has long been an avid UFC fan, regularly attending PPV events. However, his thoughts on choke slams and tombstone piledrivers being embraced by snooker would certainly make interesting reading.

It's not the only thing that Robertson would change mind, he also wants to see a major rule alterations: "If I could change a rule in snooker, I think when players are snookered, and they have to make a two cushion escape and miss it a few times," he argued.

"And they gradually move up the rail until finally hit the red it should almost be ball in hand because you can always hit the ball from that situation if you want to. It's just you're kind of trying to gain an advantage by using the missed rule to your advantage, whereas you can keep putting the ball back and just adjusting the line accordingly.

"There's pretty much no snooker we can't just get out of if we want to actually hit the ball." Robertson has already been in the news during this year's tournament for labelling the Crucible venue 'cramped '.
