Neil Lennon facing post Celtic career crossroads as Omonia Nicosia 'decision imminent' over new boss

Former Celtic and Hibs boss Neil Lennon will find out on Tuesday if he is the new manager of Omonia Nicosia.

The Northern Irishman has been out of work since leaving Celtic a year ago and is keen on a return to management as soon as possible.

Last season's Cypriot champions have been on the looking for a new manager with former Rangers defender Henning Berg sacked last week.

And Lennon is on a three-man shortlist to replace Berg as they look to rebuild and go for the title next season.

Omonoia Nicosia spokesman Andreas Dimitriou said: "I can say that the process is at a very advanced stage.

"We have a shortlist of three outstanding coaches. We have done the interviews and a decision is imminent.

"In the next day or two, the new manager will be announced."

If Lennon is appointed, he could get an early chance to add to his ten trophies he won as Hoops boss and one at Hibs - Omonia soon play in the Cypriot Cup quarter-finals against AEL Limassol.

Lennon had ruled himself in for the Sunderland job but was beaten to the post by Alex Neil.

But he also reiterated a desire to work abroad and will learn very soon if he'll get that chance.
