Neil Lennon has revealed he keeps in regular contact with Scott Brown as the Celtic hero tackles his first role in management.
The legendary Hoops skipper enjoyed a trophy-laden era at Parkhead before taking on coaching and playing duties at Aberdeen. After a change in management with Jim Goodwin coming in and Stephen Glass sacked he decided it was time to depart before making the decision to hang up his boots. Soon after he landed his maiden dugout role in England at League One level.
Fleetwood Town is the club that Broony aims to make his mark as he attempts to carve out as successful a career in management as his playing days. He would no doubt settle for just a smidgen of the success he experienced as a player but he's decided to learn the ropes down the leagues rather than walking into a big club straight away in a move heavily praised by Lennon.

Looking towards the future, the former Celtic boss would love nothing more than to see the club legend return to Glasgow one day in some capacity whether that be manager or a coach after not getting the send-off he deserved due to the Covid pandemic. The 51-year-old admits he keeps a keen eye on results when the Cod Army are playing and has regular phone and text conversations to offer advice when it is required.
Speaking to Glasgow Live Sport in an exclusive interview on behalf of Football Odds, Lennon said: "I am on the phone to Broony most weeks. Keeping eyes on his results and he just texts me the odd time for a little bit of advice.
"I am very proud of him. He's taken a huge step to go to Fleetwood. It is a very good club and he is doing remarkably well. It wasn't like he walked into a big club straight away. He's gone down the leagues and rolled his sleeves up. By all accounts the people at Fleetwood are delighted with him and the style of football they are playing. They had a great result away to Shrewsbury which was a big feather in his cap.
"He's taken the plunge and seems to have fitted in well. He's also grown his hair and I hardly recognise him! He's definitely taking to managing very well.
"I would love to see him back at Celtic Park in some capacity in the future. He didn't get the send-off he deserved because of the whole COVID pandemic. What a player and servant for Celtic.
"It would be a great story if he could go back in some capacity whether it be a coach or a manager one day. I think he's really happy earning his stars at Fleetwood. I think he's really enjoying what he is doing and the club means a lot to him at the minute."
