Neighbours take revenge with spray paint in dispute over house's lights

Some neighbours create a name for themselves for being particularly difficult, as they tend to cause argumentative disputes with those residing nearby.

One homeowner has claimed that their neighbours have taken one step too far after they vandalised their property following a row over the household's lighting.

Taking to popular forum site Reddit, the anonymous user explained how neighbours had complained about the porch light being "too bright" on the front of his parent's property.

While they tried to resolve the situation privately, they were flabbergasted once they woke up the following morning to find that their neighbours had spray painted their property.

The Reddit user explained: "My parent's neighbour complained their porch light was too bright.

They added: "The neighbour lives 400' away and my parents even tried adjusting the direction, but this morning they came out to this..."

Attached aside their caption was a photograph the son had snapped of his parent's light on the front of their property.

Unfortunately, however, the light had been clearly vandalised and spray painted in black to dull the brightness, which the neighbours had previously complained about.

Since sharing his concerns online, the man's post has raked in over 6,800 comments to date - where people fled to the comment section to discuss the jaw-dropping ordeal.

Sharing their advice, one person suggested: "I've seen some people say to put a mirror up and try to reflect it back.

"I don't know if that would work or if they'd care, though. Seems like these people don't mind light flooding into their rooms," they added.

On the other hand, one person sympathised with the angered neighbour: "That's a lot of damn light. If this is truly the parent's home I have no sympathy for them."
