Residents of a Leeds tower block looked on in horror on Sunday as they saw a man being rescued as he tried to jump from a balcony.
Yesterday (Sunday, November 14) around 11.21am West Yorkshire Police officers were called to Appleton Court, Appleton Way, following concerns for a man. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and WYP crews arrived at the scene and rushed to save the man.
They found a man four storeys high, hanging on the edge of the apartment block balcony. Video footage shows rescue crews held onto his arms and legs and pulled him back to safety a short while later.
No injuries were sustained. One resident who lives in the building said: "It happened in Appleton Court. This man tried to jump."
A spokesperson for West Yorks Police confirmed: "At 11:21am on Sunday, emergency services were called to Appleton Court, in Leeds, over concerns for a man on a balcony.
"He was brought to safety a short time later."
