Today a neighbour spoke of hearing noises during the early hours of the morning. The woman said: "I heard a ruckus during the early hours."
The woman's partner said: "The police knocked on the door and told us there had been an incident. The undertakers came out later in the day to remove the body. "
The neighbour said that he knew the man who lived at the address. He said: "Yes we knew him to say hello to . But it is not clear yet who died. I can say that there had not been any trouble or incidents at the house in the past.
"The man who lived there was just a normal bloke. I think he was a bar worker. " The neighbour also said that there was a second man, thought to have been a lodger, who lived at the same house.
Another neighbour said: "I did not hear a thing until an ambulance pulled into the close during the early hours." This afternoon police had erected a forensic tent at the rear of a detached house in Smallridge Close. Police had left all the windows and front door open and put a cordon in front of the house.
Earlier today police, confirming an investigation into the death had been launched, said that officers were attempting to notify the man's next of kin. A post-mortem will be carried out to establish cause of death.
Chief Inspector Simon Owen said: "We are in the extremely early stages of this investigation and our officers are working to establish exactly what happened in the early hours of this morning. While we have made five swift arrests, our enquiries continue and we would appeal to anyone with any information to please come forward.
"If you were in the Pensby area this morning and witnessed anything or anyone suspicious, then please get in touch. All information you hold could be vital to our enquiries."
