Ryan Maloney has been confirmed for the Neighbours Farewell Tour of the UK, including a show in Newcastle, with news of his involvement coming as the final ever episode aired.
After 37 years on our screens, the plug has been pulled on the long-running Australian soap, with fans left gutted by the decision that was made earlier this year. The last week of the show's run on screen saw a number of former Neighbours cast members return, including Natalie Bassingthwaighte' Izzy and Daniel McPherson, in the role of Joel Samuels. And then, the Neighbours finale itself featured a whole host of famous faces, including Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.
Two of the central figures in the final episode were Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodbourne as Erinsborough stalwarts Karl and Susan Kennedy. They were the first stars to be confirmed for the Neighbours Farewell Tour and now it's been announced that fellow long-serving cast member Ryan will be joining them for the dates, including O2 City Hall Newcastle on March 5.

A teaser for the tour reads: "This celebration will give Neighbours fans a chance to reminisce on your favourite Erinsborough moments from across the last 37 years.
"Join us as we look back at some of the footage from across the years, enjoy never before heard stories from the cast as they are interviewed live on the stage, plus surprises and a Q&A session at the end. This will be the ultimate night for any Neighbours fan – and the perfect way to say ‘farewell’ to one of Britain’s most-loved soaps."
Ryan being announced for the Neighbours Farewell Tour comes as fans in the UK were angry that a key moment from the finale was cut by Channel 5, after being seen by viewers in Australia a day earlier.
The segment was a speech which saw Toadie thank Karl and Susan for them treating him 'like a son,' before they assured him that he was a son to them. One annoyed British fan tweeted Alan Fletcher, the actor who plays Karl to say: "Managed to watch with Australia in the UK yesterday and just watched the UK one I’m fuming they cut your lovely speech down you said to Toadie, Melanie and the kids before showing the video tributes it was such a lovely moment why they did that i don’t know."
