Neighbours desperately tried to save mum killed in Roscommon house fire as tributes paid

An elderly woman was killed in a house fire at the weekend.

Vivien Doohan, 75, died at home in Priory Park, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon, on Sunday.

It’s understood her daughter’s partner came upon the scene and tried desperately to rescue her. Neighbours in the estate also
tried to help save Mrs Doohan, who is understood to have been living alone.
