Neighbours axe officially confirmed as bosses issue apology to 'gutted' fans and hit out at Channel 5

The axe of Neighbours has officially been confirmed much to fans' dismay.

The future of the show had been in doubt after Channel 5 last month confirmed it would stop airing the show.

But Neighbours has now announced that it will cease production of the long-running Australian soap in June.
