Neighbour endured six months of stench and fly infestation after council delayed cleaning dead man's flat

Colin James paid for cleaners to clean the communal areas of the building himself following his neighbour's death - (Facundo Arrizabalaga)

The neighbour of a man who died in his flat claims he had to endure a foul stench and a fly infestation for months because Lambeth Council took six months to remove soiled bedding and properly clean the property.

Colin James, 53, said he had to tape up the front door of the flat and hire private cleaners after the council allegedly failed to thoroughly clean the Tulse Hill property in South London.
