'Neighbour accused me of stealing their phone - but I think they set me up'

A man who has previously experienced difficulties with his nightmare neighbours says they've now falsely accused him of stealing their phone, and have even threatened to call the police.

According to this fed-up man, the "bad neighbours" - who are a husband and wife duo - have previously lied on several occasions after him giving them "the middle finger multiple times".

Now they've taken things a step further.

The couple claims to have lost one of their mobile phones in the alley that the two households share, and say they've been unable to find it.

They also claim that the phone pinged in his garden while he was out at work, and so have now pointed the finger of blame squarely at him, arguing that he must have dropped it outside.

Taking to Reddit, they wrote: "They even go out their way to say they've called the cops when I asked them the next day if the phone got found and that they were on their way to my house but when I called the cops they said there was never a call about a missing phone or about me so they've fabricated another lie.

"From what I understand about when a phone pings it focuses on a particular address but the phone could have been at any six properties."

Reaching out for some advice from fellow Reddit users, they continued: "Truth be told, Bad Neighbour probably already found the phone or never lost a phone at all and just wants to harass me because they don't like me as a person.

"I'm going to try to never look their way because if I get caught looking I might get accused of giving them the middle finger again or they might fabricate more lies about me."

A number of people sympathised with their plight, with one agreeing with their assertion that the neighbour could just be trying to muddy their name.

Another person remarked: "It's not a stretch. There's a lady who keeps getting people showing up at her house looking for lost/stolen iPhones even though she doesn't have them.

"Luckily she has a Ring doorbell and doesn't actually have to open her door because I imagine that could get kinda sketchy."

Another commented: "I hope they move so you can have some peace."
